The exhibition organized by Fondazione Pescheria in collaboration with Pesaro State Archive with the patronage of the Municipality of Pennabilli From the Eclecticism of Mario Urbani to the Rationalism of Celio Francioni – architecture in Pesaro through the 20th century by Roberta Martufi will be extended until January 27th.
I went to visit it last week and I really appreciated the opportunity I got to deepen my knowledge of buildings I’ve seen around me for years and whose history I totally ignored (shame on me, I know).
Mario Urbani (Roma 1885 – Pesaro 1961) and Celio Francioni (Pennabilli, 1928- Pesaro 2002): two architects who had a great impact on Pesaro – and surrounding areas – with great professional skills, are the protagonists of the exhibition.
The exhibition is part of a wider project conceived by Fondazione Pescheria aiming at promoting our territory through exhibitions of private collections of “Pesaresi” (Giuliani, Bertozzini, Montesi) and photographers given the task to tell our city as Annalisa Sonzogni, Irene Kung and Lorenzo Di Loreto.
Special thanks to Fondazione Pescheria, for their interesting projects and, last but not least, for allowing me to take a few pictures.
