Santa Cecilia, celebrated on November 22nd, is the holy patron of musicians and singers. Yesterday the Municipality of Pesaro inaugurated a very peculiar event devoted to music: ‘Santa Cecilia Street’. Starting from 10 in the morning to midnight the ‘heart’ of Pesaro beated with notes and instruments everywhere: inside churches, like the breathtaking Chiesa del Nome di Dio (see pictures below), Chiesa del Carmine, Chiesa del Suffragio, Chiesa dell’Annunziata, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, Chiesa della Maddalena; inside unusual places like the Central Post Office or Banca delle Marche; or inside historical palaces like: Palazzo Gradari Mamiani, Palazzo Mosca – Civic Museums, Palazzo Mazzolari Mosca and many more places (one for all: Pesaro main square, Piazza del Popolo, where from 12 am to 5 pm well-known musicians like Mario Mariani and Mario Totaro played a ‘piano marathon’ under the logge of the Ducal Palace, seat of the Prefettura).
22 concerts, in ‘secret’ places of the town center, animated Pesaro which turned into a music town for one day!
